Research, documentation and development record
These materials document the creator's independent original accessibility concepts, being presented and developed during a Fall educational program. The school program supplies an academic progress framework; it is not the owner or creator of the research.
All original written materials are available to read in full on this website and to download in their original formats.
Complete source documents
1. Next Phase Full Concept Brief
Original vision, multimodal architecture, AI and sensor roles, context and confidence, alerts, accessibility, privacy, prototype design and research roadmap.
2. Alarm and Haptics Concept Guide
Complete safety boundaries and potential integration pathway for certified alarms and supplemental accessible notifications.
3. Next Phase Research Deck

How the research is being developed
- Starting point: Independently developed accessibility concepts and design questions.
- Fall 2026 documentation: Concept brief, architecture, safety guide and presentation deck.
- Proposed investigation: Sound/event differentiation, recognition confidence, tactile event patterns, personalization, and accessible notifications.
- Planned evaluation: Accuracy, latency, missed events, false alerts, tactile learning, comfort, accessibility and privacy.
- Future work: Prototype implementation and user testing, subject to feasibility and accessibility review.
Status: Documents describe research concepts and planned work, not a fully functioning or field-validated product.
Academic transparency and ownership
This project originated independently and remains the creator's own research. Its Fall 2026 academic presentation is intended to demonstrate documented process and progress, not to imply institutional ownership or endorsement.
The original documents retain their historical project name, AccessAI, so their provenance is clear. Sensivo is the proposed current public-facing name.
Fall 2026 research timeline and development journal
This is a record of information documented so far, rather than a claim of completed engineering or testing. New dated entries can be added as the project progresses.
- Independent concept development — preceding and continuing into Fall 2026. Exploration of multimodal accessibility and technology to communicate relevant information through alternative sensory channels. Source evidence: full concept brief.
- Fall 2026 — technical documentation. Written research brief, alarm-and-haptics concept guide and research presentation assembled as part of the academic progress record. These documents describe concepts and potential architectures.
- October 2026 — research scope refined. Primary emphasis documented: sound classification followed by distinct tactile patterns whose meanings could be recognized without sight or hearing; iPhone-first investigation with optional tactile devices. Status: design direction, not deployed feature.
- Next stages — proposed, not completed. Feasibility study of sound recognition, mapping to haptics, prototype experiments, co-design feedback and controlled evaluation of event-identification accuracy, latency, false-alert burden and accessibility.
Research integrity: Distinguish observations, hypotheses, prototypes, validations and deployed capabilities. Preserve dated versions of source documents so changes remain traceable.
Scientific context
External research provides context, not proof of Sensivo's proposed system performance. See the research overview and its links to published literature. Direct citations and test results should be added as the investigation advances.
For emergencies, certified devices must remain the primary hazard detectors. This research explores only supplemental communication through approved interfaces; it does not replace certified alarms.
